Hi folks.

I was wondering if someone could possably tell me how I could disable macromedia flash player in my internet explorer?

I have a laptop with windows xp home, jaws 4.51 and ie 5 I think, but I'm not sure if it's 5 or 6 and I forgotten how I can check. Sorry about that.

I remember an associate of mine told me how to disable flash by going into run and typing something like c: back slash, something something, turn flash off and it worked then, but I have forgotten the comand.

Also since that time my hard drive has been formated and flash has been inabled.

I would greately appreciate it if someone could possably tell me how to disable it again because at the moment it is driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance,

Maria.

Hey there. You can go into your JAWS configuration manager, then you can go to the HTML options section in the menu, hit ctrl tab to go to misc options, and tab around that page of the dialog box til you hit the Ignore Flash on Web pages option. If this is not clear enough, let me know and I will go into greater detail.

Hi leaffan.

I'm afraid when I went into jaws configuration manager, and into the html options I wasn't able to control tab through the different pages as there seems to be only one tab.

It gave me options such as graphicks options and frames options, but there were no options to do with flash. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Here is what I did do:

1. I pressed jaws key 6 to go into jcf. 2. Went into html options and hit enter on it.

3. when I pressed control tab it didn't go through different tabs, but just kept going through the only tab that seemed to be there which I already discribed.

Sorry that didn't work.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

since you are running jfw 4.51, the layout is different. i am sure there is a command to disable flash somewhere in there, but i don't wemember where. sorry for not being more helpful.

Don't worry about it miky.

Thanks for explaining why it doesn't work though.

I actually thought it was me who was doing something wrong.

Does anyone remember the comand to disable flash from the run menue or from jw 4.51?

Thanks in advance,

Maria.

Hey there. Maybe when you get to the HTML options dialogue box, instead of ctrl tab, you could just keep hitting tab and see if there is an option there that relates to flash. If memory serves me, 4.51 does offer one, but I haven't used that version in a while and can't remember for sure. Let me know how you get along.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to find anything relating to flash in the html options.

I also looked through all the other options in jcf, but no joy however.

I'm very sorry.

Her'es a novel idea, call the manufacturer and take up two minutes of their precious time to delight them with this queary?
